HoloLens: The next generation visualising technology

Everyone looked Over Google Glasses, which Google first exhibited off in 2012, coupled with the Internet and overlaid images and graphics over what wearers see with their own eyes.

Functionality of device includes basic applications in broad manner. For e.g. Facebook application will upload pictures through Google Glass directly to their Facebook timeline. It has certain supporting applications and the device costs about $1,500.

Now… Microsoft is dealing with the Advanced Technology like Google glass inclusive of lens. The device is named as “Microsoft HoloLens”. It projects 3D images in front of your eyes and overlays them on real-world environments.

 HoloLens have two main functions dealing with Holograms and Lens

HOLOGRAM: Hologram is a visible object like any object in real world, instead of its presence being made entirely of light. That is Hologram is makes you able to see that the object is physically present, where it is not. These objects can be viewed from different angles and distances, just like physical objects. Holograms is 2-D, like we see on a piece of paper or a screen. They can also be 3-D, just like other physical objects in our real world.

Holographic objects are non-touchable. They don’t have any physical mass and can be operated by gestures, voice and environmental understanding on an untethered device. The holograms you’ll see with Microsoft HoloLens will seem life-like, and will be movable, will be shaped and will change according to interaction with users or physical environment in which they are visible.

LENS: The Lens is used to see the holographic objects in dimensions and which helps the user to interact with holographic objects to view in front of eyes, on a wall or anywhere where User wants to view. Gestures can be used to create, shape and size the holograms, that can be viewed with lens.

Microsoft Window 10 is the first platform ever to support holographic computing with APIs for understanding on an untethered device. Windows 10, holograms are Universal Windows apps. All Universal Windows apps can be made to work as holograms. This has led to totally novel ways to communicate, create and explore. Microsoft HoloLens allows you to place holograms in your physical environment and provides a new way to see your world.

HoloLens is incredible advanced technology in the industry, in the ways where we interact with supercomputers. However, we are still forced to operate by giving commands through a keyboard or by touching a screen. But using holograms, you can abode your digital content, such as apps, information and even 2-D videos, in the physical space so that you can interact with it.

Microsoft HoloLens have been able to generate a multi-dimensional image visible to a user due to which user can observe the holographic objects in the physical world. Holographic computing involvements with Microsoft HoloLens are dissimilar from current experiences, such as augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR).

Augmented reality (AR): The user sees a layer or screen of data that joins the real world or where the device’s camera is pointed. It is not the same as being able to see holographic objects located in exact physical locations or objects in the real world.

Virtual reality (VR): The user is entirely immersed in a computer-generated reality called virtual world. While immersed in a virtual world, users are best advised to stay seated or keep still to avoid collisions with physical objects they cannot see in the real world.
